HOW WE STARTED
August 6, 2011. Five newbie runners – Odina, Joseph, Paolo, Jean and Armie– started a journey everybody else thought was crazy and impossible. The First Five had traveled around Cebu on foot; and named the Saturday-Sunday craze as Tour de Cebu (TDC). The group was also first named as “Runnroo” (often mispronounced).

The successful run-tour around Cebu was supported byMark John Buenconsejo, who was later influenced by his wife, Rose Buenconsejo (the first RunRoo recruit), to start running with the group.
Rose, the first person inspired by Runroo to start running, is now an Ultramarathon Runner
The group started at Kilometer O located in front of the Cebu Capitol building, and finished there four months after — with more cool people already joining.

So yeah, all of us in the team were once beginners, and most of us now are active members of Cebu’s running community. We all have inspired one another to start running, and now, we want to inspire YOU.
Cliche this may sound but this is true – running has changed our lives in many positive ways. Let running change yours, and allow us to be part of the process and help you in our little ways.
All right, that’s enough talking, let’s get out the door and start running!
Cheers,
Warat Runner
