Cebu Mountain Festival: Habagat & Salomon

Last weekend, the mountains of Cebu were having a festival when Habagat, and Salomon organized trail runs on Saturday and Sunday. Definitely, I could not do both but it was just so hard to pick one so we decided to be gluttoned and joined both.

Habagat Mountain Trail Challenge

Habagat Mountain Trail Challenge started in Buhisan, and ended in Brgy. Taptap for the 15K category. While the 30K category’s finish line was in Mt. Manunggal.

As expected, one trail run event had to suffer. Chos! We had to DNF / quit the Habagat Mountain Trail Challenge way before we reached half-way. More about my DNF story of Habagat Mountain Trail Challenge in another post.

Nevertheless, Habagat Mountain Trail Challenge made me realized again and again how beautiful the mountain and trails of Cebu City! =) Definitely, we’ll be joining next edition, and hopefully make it to the finish line! =)

Salomon XTrail Run – Cebu Leg

On Sunday was the very first Salomon XTrail Run – Cebu Leg. This was on the other side of the mountains of Transcentral Highway, at Balamban area. This was a different kind of trail run because it was held inside the Foressa Mountain Town, an Aboitiz property development. It was different because it was on a maintained trail system; it was manicured one as it was inside the Foressa property; but nevertheless it did not lack challenge.
