We were in the 10KM category because 21KM slots sold out fast (Owkei, that was a lame excuse!). Anyhow, the 10K was held the day after the longer distances were done, which was also the awarding ceremony of the top runners. I stayed just so I could fan girl for a Filipino athlete in podium, Manolito Divina. He came in as the 2nd fastest runner of the 100KM male category! (More about Manolito Divina here >>.)
I think this was the first time that I witnessed an awarding ceremony where there were different countries being awarded. It was just cool to see each country cheering for their champions. Of course, the Vietnamese got the loudest cheer.
It was a first time that the champion of 10K male category is not a local Vietnamese. It was won by a Singaporean.
