On to a serious note, World Vision has roots in Cebu. The organization was actually started in Cebu. And, so to celebrate their 60th anniversary, they decided to hold their fun run here as explained by Jun Godornes, World Vision Resource Development Director, in the following video.
Talking about roots, with the help of sponsors, World Vision Philippines has not only provide scholarships to children but they also have a “sustainable livelihood program” for the community of the scholars. This is a way of taking care of the “roots,” which is the most essential part of having a more successful scholars. In effect, a community with strong roots can then fully take care of their own, as well as be able to help others.
Faith Sy (Operations Manager, World Vision Cebu) and Jun Godornes explained more about their “sustainable livelihood program” in the following videos.
Matteo Guidicelli, who also has roots in Cebu, has been one of World Vision’s ambassador for 7 years. In the following video, he shared how he started and why he is a big supporter of World Vision Philippines.
