“Wow! This is the best part: free food!” My kids declared as they found a line for food at the finish line of Citrineland Run for Gift of Life held at Robinson’s Galleria last May 7, 2017.

I’m not a beneficiary of the event, but it feels heartwarming to see the support from individuals in all ages while trotting in the 3KM category.

It was also nice to see some people behind CitrineLand Run for Gift of Life joining the fun run.

Hannah Amora of Let it ECHO

The first fun run for the benefit of CHD warriors that we got to join was the 2 Hearts 2 Beat in 2012, which was organized by Hannah Amora. Then, the “Let it ECHO” was then established. It is an organization whose members have CHD journeys; they are continuously raising awareness for Congenital Heart Defect.

So it’s kind of a miracle to see 2 organizations helping out each other: Rotary Club of Cebu and Let it ECHO.

Being a participant of the event who went home feeling positive, we would like to give a big thank you to:

Titos of Cebu Rotary Club for putting up this “fun” run for a cause.

And, I just cannot help but point out that these Titos do have special talents too.

PROTIP from these Titos when organizing an event for a cause in which you need to save up on production cost to have more proceeds for the cause, it’s the best time to use the God-given talent.

And, most of all Big Thank you also to the CHD warriors! Of course, without you, the event would not be as meaningful and heartwarming as it was. =)

“Why are you running today? Is it because of the nice singlet? Is it because of that photo-op at the start and finish line? Is it because of that medal you get when you cross that finish line? I know they are all nice. But I ask you today to run for something bigger than you. Run for all the children still waiting for that second chance at life. Run for congenital heart defect.”

Hopefully, the next time we will join the Run for Gift of Life, my kids will have a bigger meaning than the free food from the Titos of Cebu.
