The aktib.ph has always been about stories and inspirations. Despite us being so busy in 2014, we are very thankful to all the stories shared to us by runners and individuals! As little thank you, each of the top hitters will receive an aktib swag — our very beautiful shirt! (**Details below on how to claim it.) =) The #1 most viewed received a 42KM race entry to Cebu City Marathon.

This 2015, hopefully, we can pick up the slack (Hopefully, we can do a top 10 every quarter.). Let’s start it with the *Top 10 stories submitted to aktib.ph in 2014.

“It took 4 failed attempts since January 2010. I’ve made alot of mistakes but I learned from them. All the negative thoughts faded and dispeared as soon as I focused on the job at hand. Just keep on going and everything will be fine. Mother Theresa said “Do small things with great love”. I just had to break down the distance and focus on each kilometer. That was what brought me to the finish line.”

“Long story short, I clocked in at 6:05 AM, which adjusted for our late start, totaled about 5:45 minutes of bitter sweet running. Which was time well spent in realizing the following “truths” (not my original ideas) that run parallel to life: (I tried my best to quote the original sources where I can):

1. In life as with running you need only bring the essentials.
2. Focus on what’s ahead, not on what’s behind you
3. There’s always someone slower or faster than you (so keep grounded!) – Aktib contributor whom I cannot find anymore
4. You have to be in the moment (you don’t have a choice)
5. Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional ~ Haruki Murakami, What I Talk About When I Talk About Running”

10.
Title: CCM 2014: Where HOPE and Dreams Collide

Submitted by: Lester Tabada

Race / Running Event: Cebu City Marathon 2014
(Click Title to read on the whole story >>.)

“I cross the line with a ROAR! And somebody captured that moment, of glory and pain, of victory and sacrifices, and of hardwork and satisfaction, thankful and grateful.”

Again, from the bottom of our sole, thank you all to those who inspire us through their running stories. To quote Oprah Winfrey , “Running is the greatest metaphor for life, because you get out of it what you put into it.” Therefore, running stories not only inspire other runners, but everyone’s life in general.

Keep on sharing!
