(CCCAI) will have its Dagan Para sa Kalikupan (more about the group and the run here >>), a run supporting the national greening project, this June 1, 2014. And, unknown to us, some of its members are running enthusiasts, who we probably meet in fun runs. Let’s get to know one of the members behind Cebu Climate Change Association Inc. who is a runner — Engr. DANILO ALFORNON. Here’s a short Question and Answer (Q&A) with him, sharing his passion for running, a bit of CCCAI, and Dagan Para sa Kalikupan! Runroo: When and how did you start running? I started running during Maternity Run, last September 2012 at Fuente Osmena Circle.

Runroo: Did it change you? How? Yes. Compared before running, I observed that I now feel more comfortable and physically fit. As I enjoy and love running, it helps me a lot in living healthier lifestyle, which will not only benefit me but also my family, and also the people around me. Running has provided me a sense of security that I can be more effective and be here longer to provide protection and support to my family. In a way, it gives me a peace of mind.

Runroo: If you’re not running, what are you busy working on? I‘m always busy doing my professional work. But I always manage my time to include running routine in it. Runroo: Tell us a bit about Cebu Climate Change Association Inc. It was founded in 2013. We set up a Board of Trustees, composed of elected officers. Then, we have different committees that take turn in handling different projects which are all supported by the members. Runroo: What is your most memorable moment with CCCAI? During mangrove planting for rehabilitation project, affected by the Oil Spill at Brgy. San Meguil, Municipality of Cordova, Cebu.

Runroo: Share to us some of your future upcoming events of the group that is open to the public. Dagan Para Sa Kalikupan this coming June 01, 2014 at Park Mall ground, Mandaue City. This run supports the national greening project. We also have Mangrove Planting Activity this coming June 07, 2014 at Brgy. Tungkil, Municipality of Minglanilla, Cebu, this mangrove planting activity join project of Tennesse Feedmil, Inc. represented by Mr. Robert Leop Go. Runroo: Most memorable running experience? Argao Highland Endurance Trail Run because it was the toughest run so far for me.
