Probably unknown to the Minglanilla people that it is the home of one of the legendary runners of Cebu. Tony Galon founded the CUC (Cebu Ultrarunners Club) running group. He have been RD-ing / organizing numerous races, the most recent one was the Ikaduhang Halad ni Leon Kilat. And he is organizing an upcoming series of ultramarathons, which he will share with us.

And he is one of the very few runners who were able to finish the 2013 250KM race from Santander to Bogo in 46:58 hours!

From an experienced runner, we also have someone fresh in running. Kit of Minglanilla Engineering office had his 1st 30K trail run last Runnilla, and he will be sharing her experience with us.

She is a many time champion ultramarathoner, but it was her first time in a trail running event, and at a short distance of 18K.

She is also member of Psycho Inday Runners, a group of 3 female ultramarathoners, who were the first girls who had done the 250KM foot race from Santander to Bogo.

Irene Gantalao. Principal of Calbasa-an Elementary.

Ma’am Irene will also be there to share their side of the story. She was one of the gracious ladies who managed the aid station at the Calbasa-an Elementary School.

I’m still trying to get confirmation from some of the champions of the race and of other runners so as to again acknowledge their performance. Hopefully, one of them can be there. But anyway, there is always another time for them. Check here the Champions of Runnilla Eco Challenge >>.

And, guys, there will be open mic for those who would like to share their experience or maybe suggestions for the race.

The organizers will also take time to express their thanks again to us, the runners, and the supporters of the race.

This post is in part of the Runnilla Eco Challenge, which is made possible with the support of: Aktib, Runroo, Kache Movie Cafe, Altra Running, A Runner’s Circle Cebu, Mochi Audio, Cebu Trail Runners, The Athletes Foot, Planet Sports, Soybitz Organic Pig Farm, Happy Garaje, Bride’s Bestfriend, Feetures!, Danao Explorers, ETCH, Elete Electrolytes – Asia, KAI Running Sandals.
