After Xterra, excitement continues in the northern part of Cebu. The leg 3 of TRAP’s National Age Group Triathlon (NAGT) will be held in Danao City, Cebu this April 6, 2014. This is probably the longest standing triathlon event in Cebu which started way back in 1990’s. It can be said that a lot of triathletes in Cebu were born here.
The NAGT Leg 3 – Danao, Cebu has a sprint distance triathlon, individual and relay (2-3 persons), perfect for adrenaline-junky and also beginners who wish test the waters of triathlon. There will be SuperTriKids for 15-year old and below.
Then for the cyclist, you can check the duathlon category. Registration is at P1000 (regular rate) for triathlon, P500 for SuperTriKids and duathlon. For cash prizes, route map, and other info here >>.
While the running and triathlon scene in Cebu is getting bigger, the cycling, especially the mountainbike scene, will also not be left behind. During the NAGT press conference at Irie Gastropubliko last week, Boying Rodriguez also announced that the Southeast Asian Mountainbike Challenge will have a comeback this year.
The Southeast Asian MTB challenge is slated to happen on June 12, 2014, in time for Independence Day and a long weekend.
MTB-ers from Kota Kinabalu will be coming over to Cebu this March who will be helping in planning out the said mountainbike challenge. From then can they provide more details about this upcoming exciting event! We will keep you posted.
