Tacloban Rises Again for Unity Run 2!

Hello running idols and friends! In behalf of the TOES Tacloban family, I would like to invite everyone for our humble Unity Run happening in Tacloban Cityon February 23, 2014. The event is tagged at zero pesos registration fees so every local runners can join. However we will just split our hydration cost upon registration on raceday (oops! Coca-cola will sponsor this one!). So just bring your much needed presence to Tacloban. However, the visitors and runners can extend their help to the Yolanda affected communities by bringing in the much needed school supplies for the school children of Tacloban City.

The initial route will start in front of the Leyte Provincial Capitol then we will head to Anibong District (where the ships are) then to Maharlika Highway and all the way to the majestic San Juanico Bridge for our halftime get together and picture taking sessions.

The Unity Run 2 (UR2) was originally intended to be a group run this month, however the Tenderfoot Organization of Enthusiastic Striders (TOES) of Tacloban City decided to invite other runners who want to run but could not run any races around Leyte because Yolanda took away all our races. TOES were very blessed to have run in CCM because of the help and support from our Cebu donors and friends. So we are now giving back the experience of running in our home turf, even though it is only a group run, but still a running event free for everybody.

This Unity Run 2 is for all the runners in Leyte to Unite and to continue to run proud that we are blessed to be alive and still have the gift of running. Everyone is invited to join, especially to our Cebu friends who were there to support us at CCM. Again, we will not be charging any registration fees for the event. We want every runner the to unite and show how great the running community is.

Again, for those who want to bring any kind of help in Tacloban, we would like to recommend that they bring school materials for our school children. A lot of kids go to school with no school supplies at all. A P100 worth of school supplies consisting of ball pens, pencils, crayons, notebooks and pad papers will go a long way for the children. Again, these are optional and voluntary act of love, we just want your presence there. Well, because that is how we love running!

UR2 is a free running event. Pure love, pure hope, and pure running.
