Tindog Tacloban: A Unity Run for HOPE

From Cebu, how to get there?
Doc Willie Estepa (who made the 1st run for a cause here in Cebu right after Yolanda), together with TAD (Toledo sa Adik) runners will be joining it. You may join them their group in going there. So following are details on how they will go to Tacloban from Cebu to give you an idea:
* From Cebu to Tacloban: They will take a boat trip to Baybay, Leyte on Saturday (Dec. 21) at 8pm, Pier 3 (fare- P330). Then they’ll take a van in Baybay at 2am, which will arrive in Tacloban by 5am for the gun start.
* In going back to Cebu: Doc Willie suggested via Ormoc. So here are some info: Van (tac-ormoc) is P130; Ormoc-Cebu fastcrafts: P600 (Weesam), P700 (2Go), slow boat/lite shipping (P480).
Feel free to message Doc Willie Estepa in facebook.com/dokiwest.

Accommodation?

The organizers can house you at LNU campus. It’s already been cleaned up since Lester Tabada (author/organizer) did help in the clean up. Just bring your own sleeping materials / tents and flashlights (still no electricity in Tacloban).

For food, it’s bring your own and maybe extra to share with others.

Race details?

There will be no official singlets, no medals, no cut-off time, and no water stations so you have to stick together the whole course. Make sure to bring your own bottle of mineral water and a few P20 bill in case you need to ride a jeepney to our starting line.

“This is not a Race. This is HOPE.”

Join us in our cause of bringing Hope once again in Tacloban City and to its people through running. The TINDOG TACLOBAN: A Unity Run for Hope aims to empower the city through the show of support from the running community from all over the country; the event is free of Registration Fees.
Every participant is encouraged to bring cash donations or any kind of relief they can bring. For every donation and pledge, the Organizers will give out blank race bibs where runners can write their messages of Hope to Tacloban and victims of Yolanda. Again, this Unity run is absolutely free. There will be no singlets, medals, race marshals, and cash prizes (water station will be provided). Only Hope.
Runners and participants are required to run in unity behind the Tindog Tacloban banner as we will rock together rthe City of Tacloban! This running event will have the first hand opportunity to see the damage of Yolanda and witness how the people of the city rise up to the challenge of rebuilding their lives.
