So this will be the first Enduro type of bike race in Cebu (feel free to correct my facts). I’m no biker, and the most biking-related activities I had done is fancy becoming a Jill Homer, and listen to my real biker friends’ tales, so let me rip off the pinkbike’s definition of it:
The most basic definition is TIMED downhills and UNTIMED uphills. — read more from Beginners Guide to Enduro: What the hell is it? – Pinkbike.
So why I’m writing about it when I’m not really sure which is a saddle and a fork? Because, well, it’s about trails, and Adrian “Wagee” Walag, the misplaced trail rider in the triathlon world, is the Race Director of Cebu leg of Enduro. (Note: Runroo was taken from Wagee’s Bikeroo.)

I could remember years ago when he started mountainbiking with his bike which he called the “Makro bike,” as it was bought from the Makro supermarket. Then, after many number of different kind of bikes assembled, joined road and off-road triathlons just so he could bike, finally, he’s making a race for his MTBs and friends, of course. =)
And, so there will be no more misplaced trail riders on the road! =) (Note: He has a tri-bike now though.)

So following is a glimpse of the route. Not yet final though, as Wagee is still not yet done making acrobatic rides on the mountains to give you a Cebu-ish kind of route to shred.
(Help me, God, in explaining this!) So The Enduro Network race has 3 stages, and EACH stage has 2 sub-stages: liaison and special stage. The liaison stage is the untimed uphills, while the special stage is the timed downhill (descending time trial).
Stage 1, Liaison: Tagbao Spillway to Taptap Climb

Part of Tagbao to Spillway Taptap route
Course description (lifted from Wagee’s Garmin account):
Waypoints to remember: Start from Tagbao spillway – crossing to Manggabon – corner Adlaon – Taptap.
Description: This is mostly a cemented climb with little breaks composed of dirt/rocky dirt roads. We start at the spillway of Brngy. Manggabon near the gymnasium. This is a very steep climb up to the corner going to Brngy Manggabon. The road to Manggabon, you can see on the left side on the way up to taptap, do NOT take that. Go straight up, and 200 meters away you will see a basketball court. Continue to follow the road until you get to a cemented road that just covers a small settlement. At the end of the cemented road, there is an intersection and a basketball hoop, you will take the road to the left to Adlaon. Follow that road until you reach a T-intersection: the left goes to adlaon, the right to taptap. Go to taptap, and finish like you’ve just been raped.
Stage 1, Special: Taptap to Kamandagan

Taptap to Kamandagan
Course description (lifted from Wagee’s Garmin account):
Trail Waypoints to Remember: Start near CREMDEC – Taptap road to old school – little cascade – Taptap old school – cemented road to corner Kamandagan – cascade in Kamandagan.
Description: Entry near CREMDEC, then starts with a speedy trail. Before connecting to the usual road to the old taptap school, the trail passes through a swampy part and connects awkwardly to it. Take the road down to the old Taptap school. From a distinguishable abandoned road, the trail becomes a rutted single track that passes though a little cascade which is rideable for some. The terrain becomes a climb before it reaches the school. Pass through the school, and you’ll see a cemented road going up. Follow and climb that steep road until you see a corner on the left. Descend here, and you will reach the rocky rooty portions that lead to Kamandagan. Downhill ends after a short rise from a cascade. Your shoes might get wet.
Contrary to popular belief that we’re all about beautiful beaches, we do have mountains in Cebu!!! =) So come, and experience Cebu’s beach weathers up in the mountains: ENDURO ‘TA BAI! 4TH LEG OF THE ENDURO PILIPINAS SERIES!!!
