CCM 2013 WINNING STORY Contributor / Photographer

Yes, I’m talking about CCM 2013, which was just 3 months ago. But for those who run every weekend, it may seem centuries ago that some have finished xx number of marathons, training for their half-marathons and ultramarathons, became ultra runners, and so on.

So sorry, guys. I haven’t diligent about this promo. But before that, I would like to thank everyone who take time to use the web app for running we are currently building, aktib.ph. Without much further ado, here it is.

For CCM 2013 stories, we promise to pick 1 winner of story and 1 winner for the photographer who has the most pictures used in the stories.

Following are snippets from their Cebu City Marathon (CCM) 2013 stories shared at aktib.ph:

MY CEBU CITY MARATHON 2013 EXPERIENCE by Earl Bolivar (Malaybalay Runners)
(Malaybalay will staged a FREE race, Dinaganay sa Malaybalay, this March 16, check details here >>.)

“Overall, the race was well-organized race. I just hope that next year, the registration fees will be more affordable or at least it will not increase, the singlet will be made of better quality and 21K finishers will also be given medals.”

I conquered the 2013 Cebu City Marathon in 4hrs 56 minutes and 48 seconds. not bad for me a first time marathoner.”

“…this coming january 18 would be my 2nd monthsary in running. In short, I’m just a beginner.I haven’t experience yet running a 20k and above category in a race, the highest so far is just 16k. but in my CCM training, I already experience having a long run on the road. My RRC family most specially coach Ruth said that I am not supposed to run a 42k since I’m just new and too young for this category. But there’s nothing I can do since I already registered before they knew about it. So I said to myself that I will finish the race watever it takes. Only unconscious and cramps can stop me. As long as I can run, I will finish it.”

WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, WALK! by Nikki Nina Petralba
(Nikki is now an ultramarathoner. She recently joined and finished the AWUM.)

“I was cursing the marathon all throughout that last 19 kilometers of the travel! I swore to myself that I would never run a marathon again and CCM2013 will be my first and last!”
