SK Dagan Para sa Kauswagan, held last October 27, 2012, is probably Consolacion’s first big town running event. Although, there were already few barangay-level runs previously held.
I was looking forward to this event as it would be nice to see the different faces of Consolacion, which have been my home and second hometown for eight years.
Here’s a peek to the runners of SK Dagan Para sa Kauswagan:
Zumba-ers
Consolacion, Cebu is probably more popular with its Zumba events. I think every weekend there is a Zumba event, either in SM or at the basketball gym (across Sn. Narciso Parish Church), which you can join in. Thus, there was Zumba before, during, and after the race.
Front and Back
While the runners in front line were looking serious, probably imagining their winning moment,
the runners at the back were doing last minute updates to their friends, loved ones, or maybe their facebook.
Various Forms, Ages, Colors. Gender Represented
Barefoot
I love it when I see barefoot runners. Because I feel they never fail to pick the bystanders’ curiosity about running. And, it’s always a good start to egg people to do unusual things.
The Champion’s of the Races, and of their Own
The smiles of the podium champions.
The finish act of someone who champion over his time.
The hair of someone triumphant over Tropical Storm Ofel.
The barkada who were champion for being able to wake up early.
Applause to this lady who championed in giving out forms during registrations, and refreshments on the race day.
