Last Aug. 12, 2014, I got the chance to join in KaRUNsa’s press conference held at Danao City’s Municipal Hall. Following are just highlights of the event you can look forward to:
* “Tinap-anan” fest at the finish line
* Face painting along the route as markers (instead of ribbons)
* Zumba fest during the event
* Free shuttle bus to be stationed in Parkmall (for confirmation) the night before the event, and on race day
* and more.
I met with the other media people, and the organizers at the Infinitea in City Times Square (across Parkmall). Infinitea is one of the sponsors of the event. (Registration is available here)
The fishport and its restaurants there are also supportive of the event. They’re excited to serve “tinap-anan” (smoked fish) to the runners in the upcoming KaRUNsa.
as well as their energetic staff.
Phoenix Petroleum Philippines was also present to show their support. They’re one of the major sponsors of KaRUNsa.
Everyone is there for full support of KaRUNsa, which is not only part of the Karansa festival, but is also for the support of the Danao Junior Athletes, the beneficiary of the run. The student athletes present there garnered championships and medals from the recent Little Milo Olympics.
L-R: Marbi S. Laum (Coach), DECS / Sports Commission Head, Ciara Derecho (Danao Jr Athlete), Phoenix Petroleum Communications Head, Lloyd Kyle M. Lebosada (Table Tennis), April Joy Batoto (Track & Field), Jemelou M. Dakay (Coach)
